This course explains the characteristics of sound, including waveform characteristics, sound intensity measurement, types and causes of interference, and basic psycho acoustical concepts. Theories and procedures involved with a variety of acoustical tests used in the professional audio industry will be covered. A student completing this course has an understanding of the basic terminology, theory, and procedures. An elementary discussion of the acoustical properties of room materials and their affect on room acoustics is also included. Students taking this course will learn basic sound measurement equipment use. |
