This course focuses on alterations in physiologic needs of the adult and aging person and incorporates concepts such as the hierarchy of basic human needs, human development, and holism. The leading causes of mortality according to the Center for Disease Control serve as a foundation for discussion of alterations. Emphasis is placed on the nursing process as it relates to the practical nurse. Pharmacology, nutrition, and health promotion are integrated throughout this course. Students must have successfully completed or concurrently be enrolled in PSYC263 and ENGL121. | ||||
