NURS 2001   Foundation for Professional Nursing 1  
  This course is designed as the foundational course for the LPN who is advancing their education to practice within the scope of practice of the professional nurse. Concepts of professional nursing practice aligned with the curricular threads and the nursing discipline philosophy regarding the role of the professional nurse as a provider of care, manager/coordinator of care, and member of the discipline. Students will explore current evidence-based practice, initiatives in the practice environment designed to safeguard patients, and current forces influencing the practice of professional nursing. The course includes both an online didactic and a lab component. This course must be successfully completed with a C grade or better to continue to NURS 2050. Students must have successfully completed or concurrently be enrolled in BIOL 211, PUBH 107, and elective coursework. SUSPENDED PER AASC 12/5/2019  
  Prerequisite: Admission to the professional nursing program.
