PHD 1190   Pre-Cooking Techniques 1  
  This course introduces the student to the basics of diet and nutrition and identifies the skills needed before beginning cooking. Emphasis is on modifying a regular diet, basic food groups, safety in the kitchen, identifying kitchen equipment, meal planning, and shopping.  

PHD 1190 is a required course in the following degrees, diplomas, or certificates:
Universal Care Assistant Diploma (2007-2008)
Food Service Certificate (2007-2008)
