PRNU 2200   Nursing Care of Women/Newborns/Children 3  
  Nursing Care of Women/Newborns/Children provides an integrative approach to the care of the childbearing woman, newborns, and children. Emphasis is on the application of concepts of informatics/technology, managing care, evidence-based nursing judgment, relationship-centered patient care, professional integrity and behavior, quality improvement, safety, and teamwork and collaboration in the care of women/newborns/children. Emphasis is on normal pregnancies, normal growth and development, and common health/illness problems of children. The student has an opportunity to demonstrate skills specific to the care of the women, newborns, and children in the lab setting.  
  Prerequisite: Admission to the practical nursing program. Successful completion with minimum 2.0 in each Semester One (1) course.
