The Activity Aide program of the Hutchinson campus of Ridgewater College offers career opportunities to work with the elderly in a nursing home setting or adult day service. Job responsibilities include assisting residents to and from activity programs, providing one-to-one companionship with residents, setting up and assisting with small and large group activities, assisting with outings, bulletin board and seasonal decorating, and assisting the activity staff with special events. The Activity Aide program is designed to complement the Universal Care program. It does not meet standards for national activity certification.
