Admission Criteria:

  • Attend Nursing Information Session
  • High School graduate or GED recipient
  • Nursing Assistant (current registry)
  • Accepted Ridgewater College student
  • Assessment testing Reading: college level (100 level) or take ENGL 95 English: college level (ENGL 121) or take ENGL 94 Math: college level (MATH 109 or above) or take MATH 98
  • Medical Terminology (NURS 1617 or its equivalent) or pass the Competency Assessment.

    NOTE: You must successfully test at college level in each assessment area or earn a "C" grade or better in all courses taken to meet admission criteria. (You must complete all admission criteria prior to applying to the nursing program)

    Only students who have been accepted into the nursing program are allowed to register for nursing courses (courses with the NURS prefix). Students can take any of the general education courses required in the Nursing Pathway prior to applying for the Nursing program. After completion of Year 1, you are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam.
