Students are trained in basic Esalan massage, deep tissue therapies, hot stone applications, and seated-chair massage, and are introduced to a variety of specialized massage techniques such as Reflexology, Shiatsu, MyoFascial Release, Energy Work, and Pre/Post Event Sports massage. Also included are a number of adjunct therapies, including ear candling, the use of hot/cold stones for specific areas, and spa body treatments. The Massage Therapy practitioner must also understand anatomy and physiology, pathology, client communications, business practices, principles of holistic health, and first aid and safety, all of which are included in this program.
